ASEZ WAO Volunteers Clean Manchester Tram Stops in Worldwide Green Earth Campaign
On 18 January, young adult volunteers from ASEZ WAO, the volunteer group of the World Mission Society Church of God in Manchester, carried out a large-scale litter picking initiative across three major tram stops: Cornbrook, Trafford Bar, and Deansgate.
The activity formed part of ASEZ WAO’s worldwide clean-up campaign, aimed at creating cleaner, greener, and safer communities.
A team of 35 volunteers gathered from across Greater Manchester to take part in the effort. Working together throughout the morning, the group collected approximately 40 bags of litter, removing waste from walkways and surrounding public areas frequently used by commuters.
Local residents expressed appreciation as volunteers worked to improve the appearance and safety in the areas around the tram stops. “Keeping our shared spaces clean is something everyone benefits from,” said an ASEZ WAO representative. “We hope today’s effort encourages more people to take pride in their environment.”
ASEZ WAO, short for “Save the Earth from A to Z,” is made up of university students and young professionals who carry out volunteer work in more than 175 countries. Guided by the principle “Love your neighbor as yourself,” the group focuses on environmental protection, disaster relief, and community service.
Today’s clean-up is one of many ASEZ WAO initiatives dedicated to building a more sustainable and compassionate world. Through unity, enthusiasm, and a shared sense of responsibility, the volunteers helped create a cleaner Manchester for residents and.
