Man arrested after stabbing a woman in Partington

Emergency services raced to the scene after reports someone had been stabbed in Partington today (8 Feb)

The serious incident happened on Charlock Walk just after midday when Police discovered a woman in her 40’s with stab wounds to her stomach, she was treated at the scene and taken away by ambulance, she is expected to make a full recovery.

A man aged 20 was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault and remains in custody for questioning, police believe there is no wider threat to the public but they will stay in the area to offer some assurance to the public.

During the day Crime Scene Investigation Unit and plain clothed detectives were on the scene.
