Upcoming games for Trafford MV Rugby Club This Weekend

This weekend Trafford MV Rugby Club (TMV) are once again looking to field 3 senior men’s teams as we head into the back end of the season.

As the weather hopefully begins to improve, we call on local ‘fair weather’ players to get their boots back on and give their backing to the players who have endured the worst of the winter weather.

Trafford’s 1st XV have a top vs bottom game on Saturday as they travel to face league leaders Wilmslow. However, having shown recent good form, they will be in a positive mood heading into the game.

The TMV 2nd XV rule the roost at home as Garstang 2nds visit MacPherson Park for a 2:15 pm kick-off. This should be a fairly well-contested match, and we would welcome some good local support to cheer the team on. There is no admission charge, and there is a lively clubhouse atmosphere alongside the game. The TMV 3rd XV are also on the road, heading to Marple to face their 2nd XV.

There is no Six Nations Rugby this weekend, so we look ahead to Friday, March 6th, when Round 4 opens with Ireland vs Wales. Then, on Saturday, March 7th, Scotland plays France, and Italy hosts England.

With some exciting rugby to be played in this penultimate round, Trafford MV has a welcome waiting for fans from all nations, and the craic will be good. Non-members are invited to join us in the clubhouse for all the games.

With the cricket season just around the corner, Trafford MV CC are holding a fabulous indoor cricket tournament on Sunday, February 28th, at Sale High School with 8 teams competing in a 2-group competition culminating in knockout playoffs to determine the winners—an exciting day to get ready for the season ahead.
