YouTube Auditors a force for good or bad?

YouTube auditors have been around for a while and have been popular with the public, some people though find them a nightmare with a camera.

Sometimes negative reviews get more people watching, and it seems political figures have now got involved to try and stop auditors from filming in and around Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester City Centre due to some of them allegedly harassing vulnerable people just to get a reaction.

The Manchester Labour Councillor Pat Karney doesn’t want these people filming vulnerable individuals in Piccadilly Gardens, and he is believed to have asked Google representatives how they could stop them, maybe by suspending adverts, which means they won’t get paid.

YouTube will stick with the guidelines, and it will take more than just one politician to make much of a difference. Auditors are bringing news that mainstream media won’t show the public, often being very friendly and helping vulnerable people in Manchester City Centre.

Some of them, though, are causing issues; by being antagonistic, they get a reaction, and this type of video gets the views. The more views, the more money they get. All of this will mean more popularity. Of course, other social media like TikTok has its fair share of auditors, although it doesn’t have the same pull as YouTube.

One thing that probably won’t come to mind is just how dangerous it can get being an auditor. They have to be on their guard 100%; they have to deal with all walks of life, and some of these people do not like being recorded. Although it’s completely legal to record or take photos on public land, the auditor has the right to do this many people they are recording object to this. So if political figures want to stop them from coming into Piccadilly Gardens, they could make it all private.

YouTube auditors have a part to play in covering the news that mainstream media won’t cover, the things that are going on in our inner cities that we don’t see. But for those that are only trying to annoy others just for views and payments, they are what politicians are talking about, and it’s them that YouTube needs to sort out.

Other auditors go around businesses who mostly use drones and look for a reaction and often end up with the police coming out. From what has been seen, they have good knowledge of what they are doing and the laws. This might be frustrating for businesses they turn up at, but they don’t actually do anything wrong, and so it would be best to not approach them.

It has been noted not that many videos are being produced recently more so at the Migrant Hotels and in other places, this might be due to weather conditions or time of year, or simply its something people are bored of doing, and its true that those that show their faces and get popular will always find someone who don’t like them which can cause all sorts of problems on and off the camera.
