Consultation will let the public have their say on how digital ID is used to make public services quicker, easier, and more secure to access according to the government.
Digital ID is not needed! As we already have proofs, and despite some of us not having photo ID, there are many other ways of getting the identification needed. Around 6 million people do not even have a smartphone or a computer; some elderly people have never used a computer before.
It is also more about control than ease of use, as they claim. Once the government has all your details, including bank and other financial information, eventually they will start controlling what you spend and where, even to stop you from spending anything if you do not follow certain things they want people to do.
It gets worse! The infrastructure has already been built with questionable security. Even though the government makes people believe it’s fully secure, nothing is fully secure, and nothing is 100% guaranteed to be working. With almost everyone on the Digital ID, it will need 24/7 service with no outages, especially when they get rid of cash.
The consultation won’t make much difference because they have already built Digital ID. It’s still worth participating, as the government could tweak a few things to make things a little easier; it will still be a bad thing. Once it’s all bedded in and everyone understands it all, then we will see cash vanish.
A cashless society is next! Do you want that? Can you imagine if one day, or several days, or even just one hour, there is an outage? With no other way of finding a way to pay at the petrol stations or at a supermarket, the chaos would be off the scale, even for a short time.
You will also need a good mobile phone, one that gives you security updates for a couple of years. That means one of the latest models. The good news is you can find one cheap on Amazon, brand new, if you are on SIM only or pay as you go. Get one that is no lower than 8GB RAM (Random Access Memory); this will keep the phone running smoothly, with only a small chance of an app glitching.
Some handsets start at 4GB but have another 3 or 4GB extended RAM, like the Nothing Phone 2a and others. These are the type to look for to keep everything moving fast; having a 120 or 90Hz screen refresh rate is also something to look for.
This mobile phone information has not yet been mentioned by the government, as far as we are aware, and it definitely needs to be! As it will give you peace of mind that you have the latest security, so long as you keep updating it.
Some people want the Digital ID! But maybe now you have read this and gone off and hopefully done your own research on the harms this dreadful idea really is; you will think twice.
The Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister says the government needs to “catch up” with services offered by the private sector, like online banking, and they are making it seem really good, easy, and faster than normal—no need for ID or endless phone calls to prove who you are! It’s just like a sales pitch!
Let’s look at ID now; we have a national insurance number, we have a birth certificate, some of us have a passport or a driving license, which is more than enough for everything! So why do we need a Digital ID for? Think about that for one moment! Now you will understand that no matter what the government says or anyone else in power, this is about control and the end to cash in the future (estimated to be 2030).
