Due to the war in Iran, petrol and diesel prices have increased, and we have a very useful website that shows the most up-to-date prices for every petrol station in Trafford and beyond.

The big problem is the tankers are not able to ship out the oil because of issues with passing the Strait of Hormuz. However, tankers are still delivering the oil, but it is taking longer to arrive as they take a different route. It is believed that most of UK’s oil comes from the US and Norway.

Looking at the increases, it’s still nowhere near 2021 when the price per litre of petrol was hovering around the £1.90 mark, so it’s nowhere near as bad. the rise in price is more to do with global markets than penny pinching.

The war with Iran, whichever way you look at it, was more ‘gung-ho’ than planned. If Trump can prove Iran had a nuclear weapon, which he has never shown us, then it is right to take the action he did. However, he must now be having daily headaches since he didn’t fully understand that Iran, despite the US reportedly destroying its air and sea threat, got more than expected and, of course, the number one thing Iran has used, and that’s to cut off almost one-third of the world’s oil supply.

We think it’s time now for the US president to drop that huge ego and see some sense and end the war, which is what we understand Iran wants and what the world wants.
