Residents told us that chaos is happening around the Raglan Road/Walton Road area of Sale this weekend as temporary lights and cones were installed in a four-way direction.
One woman who did not wish to be named told us, “This could create a bad situation either overnight or during the morning, and we are worried about this.”
The temporary lights had been installed nearer Walton Park due to road works taking place by Cadent Gas; however, all four sets of lights (two North and South on Walton Road and two East and West on Raglan Road junction) were stuck on red, and motorists coming from Walton Park were seen going through the red light west bound, all of which turned right onto Walton Road.
According to the law, you can go through a temporary red light if you have waited long enough and used caution while doing so; however, police do need to be called though in situations like this on 101.
We expect the lights to have been fixed by early this morning (13 April) at some point, but you should use caution at that junction or avoid it until fixed, or better still, removed.
Raglan Road was closed at the junction of Washway Road from Thursday leaving one lane open for residential access on Saturday all road closure signage had been removed and only cones were seen, which is confusing a lot of people.
We believe Trafford Council hires out temporary road lights, signage and cones and not Cadent Gas who are on sight to work on gas pipes.
Cadent Gas is currently doing work on Raglan Road until 20/04/26.
