An attempted robbery took place at Tesco Express on Green Lane in Ashton on Mersey in Sale on Aug 4 at around 1pm in the afternoon.

Two male offenders both on foot approached a delivery van and attempted to steal a cage of cigarettes.

They were disturbed by the delivery driver and the offenders escaped in a vehicle.

Police are asking people if they saw anything suspicious or the incident to ring them or if anyone has any information to call 101, or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
