Several males have been arrested for Section 47 Assault in connection with an incident which occurred on Northenden Road in Sale On Aug 12 at around 1am.

A group of friends were walking home following a night out and were confronted by a gang of unknown males, who approached the group and were verbally abusive towards them. The offenders then punched out at one of the victims a number of times in an unprovoked attack.

Officers managed to detain the offenders a short distance away and the ambulance crew were alerted where medical attention was sought for the victim who suffered injuries to the head.

An investigation is underway and the suspects are currently being held in custody.
