Police and Trafford Trading Standards are warning people about a bogus woman pretending to be a social worker or a housing officer in the Trafford area.
The women knocks on doors of strangers which then identifies an elderly or vulnerable person.
She is a black woman who dresses smartly and thought to be around 51-years-old but looks much younger and of slim build.
What she does is, goes around knocking on doors hoping to find that an elderly or vulnerable person is behind the door, she then asks for money so she can get to a hospital to see her ill father, she also attempts to gain access and once inside the property steals anything of value.
This woman also enters care homes and supported housing, or poses as a friend of occupants or even staff, once she is inside she steals from rooms she can get into.
If that was not enough she also poses from someone from social services or even a housing officer! often seen wearing a fake lanyard stating she is a new member of staff.
She also sneaks into insecure premises where doors are not locked, more so when it is warm weather.
