A Women Has Died After Being Knocked Down In Stretford

Police were called shortly after 10pm last night Sept 9  to reports of a collision between a blue Volkswagen Golf and a pedestrian at the junction of Chester Road and Green Street.

A woman in her 50s was sadly pronounced dead at the scene and her next of kin have been informed.

A 33-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Roads in the area were closed for a time.
