Trafford council tells news4trafford about the refurbishment in the Oak Road Park play area and how much it cost.

They tell us that Trafford never funded the ‘Friends of Oak Rd group’ but has identified £40,000 in the 2016/17 capital programme to refurbish the play area, and the council will be managing this work.

The council tell us that any funding ‘which has gone past the £1000 mark’ that the group has managed to get is a matter for them.

And interestingly they say “it’s still in design phase” and could not give me an accurate figure of how much it would cost.

Trafford through FOI request tells us they have identified the money, they will be doing it all.

This must be come as good news to the group and to the area, but leaves me wondering what happens to the funding given to the group now? since it is not needed for the park?
