Unexplained Fire Next To A Runway At Manchester Airport Causes An Aircraft To Divert

An unexplained fire occurred today Sept 19 beside a runway at Manchester Airport.

Not many people was at the aviation viewing park today, but a handful of people looked concerned as they took pictures of the scene.

Our photographer took pictures at a length of 126x zoom but even with that close up as you can see below nothing could explain what the fire was.

We have asked Manchester Airport for a statement and we will update this story when we have further information.

Other Aircraft continued to land and take off during the fire and only one had to do a go around.
