It is not known at this time the amount of cash the two women had lost or what else was in these purses.

Our advice is at any time, never put your iPhone or anything of value  in a back pocket, you might think it is safe since you will feel it, well here is why it is not safe, a pick pocket will hit another part of your body, at that moment this is when all your attention is lost on the mobile phone.

Keeping valuables in a bag is fine so long as its zipped up and under your arm out of reach.

Try this, get someone to go past you with your phone or wallet in your back jeans pocket and let him or her touch your shoulder or around that area, so you see? for a blink of an eye your attention was on the sensation in another part of your body, even more so when outside, this is how a pick-pocket works! do not give them any chance to take your property.

Keep mobiles and other valuable items in a zipped up front pocket.

If you see anyone pick pocketing, ring 101 immediately giving a description to police is vital and the location you saw the incident.
