United Utilities customers in Greater Manchester may have experienced some issues with smell and taste to their water in recent weeks.

Due to changes in the way United Utilities manage the water network in Manchester some locations have experienced issues.

The problems are being resolved but some areas are still having problems and United Utilities are testing samples and monitoring the situation to speed up the process of bringing you a clear water supply.

If you are affected we suggest not to drink water at the moment from the tap even with a filter unless you are boiling it and using for tea or coffee etc.

United Utilities have not given any information on exactly which areas of Greater Manchester are affected.
