Trafford MV Rugby’s season gets no easier in the season of Goodwill as they face a tough run up to Christmas.
Struggling in the Lancashire /Cumbria League sitting in 11th position – although performances are better than this infers – they now face games against teams in the top half of the table against which they have already lost this season.
This weekend MV host a Bolton side which came out 27-0 winners when MV played away and next week MV visit De La Salle who were lucky to win 15-18 in the earlier meeting.
However both of MV’s opponents have suffered defeats themselves recently so there is a glimmer of hope that the tide could be changing.
With a good forecast for the rest of the week conditions should be ideal on Saturday for a good game of rugby which will hopefully suit MV’s talented back line.
With a 2.15pm kick off and no distraction of International Rugby then MV will be hoping for a good touch-line to get behind the team. Spectators welcome – free admission.
Trafford MV are holding a Ladies Christmas Prosecco Afternoon Tea on Saturday at 12.30pm – sponsored by Make The Time Personal Training for Women – this is becoming a high-profile event in the MV Calendar and will be well attended by ladies from the Club and from the local community.
Christmas time is also a time for MV’s University contingent to get back in touch with the Club – having spent most of the Rugby season playing BUCS League Rugby. If you have lost touch with Rugby and want to get back involved with the game please contact Greg Hawkins at Trafford MV on 07834 857905 for info on the holiday season games.
