Vulnerable Elderly Male Robbed By Bogus Workmen In Timperley

A Vulnerable elderly male was robbed by bogus workmen in Timperley on Dec 29

The two males knocked on the gentleman’s door and explained that his neighbour had called them out due to a leaking roof.

The offenders deluded the male into thinking that loose tiles on his roof were the cause of the problem after the offenders deceitfully sought permission from the male to go up onto his roof and carry out an ‘inspection’.

The males gave the gentleman a quote for them to ‘fix’ his roof and defrauded the victim out of a substantial amount of money.

The males left in a blue van with ladders on the top, the only part of the registration number obtained was 07KK.

Male one is described as white, tall, late 30’s – early 40’s, stocky build, brown hair wearing a beanie hat, a grey fleece and grey jogging bottoms and spoke with a local accent.

No description at this time for the second offender.

Police are warning people not to be doing any business with door to door salesmen or workmen.
