Police are appealing for information following an attempted kidnap in Whalley Range.

At around 5.10pm on 20 January, a 37-year-old woman came out of Tesco Express on Chorlton Road.
As she approached Whitehorn Avenue and crossed the road, a man suddenly appeared and grabbed her throat.
He pulled her towards him, but she managed to hit him with her bag, which caused him to release his grip and he did not rob anything from her,t he victim then escaped and ran home.
The man is described as white or mixed race, 5ft 11ins tall, of slim build, with acne scars on the left side of his face.
He was wearing a plain black baseball cap, a dark hooded top which was bunched up at the back, and dark pants.
Detective Constable Christopher Clarke, of GMP’s City of Manchester Team, said: “This was a terrifying incident which caused the victim to fear for her life and left her extremely shaken.
“Thankfully, she managed to escape with only some tenderness to her throat, but the outcome could have undoubtedly been much more serious.
“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at that time, or anyone who recognises the description of the offender, to please get in touch as soon as possible.”
