Two men have been knifed on Derbyshire Road in Partington this morning April 6.
Officers were called at around 6.30am and found a 27-year-old man with stab wounds to his chest, he was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
A 28-year-old man fled the scene in the direction of Warburton Lane and was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault, he was also taken to hospital with a stab wound to his chest.
An investigation is underway and detectives are now appealing for information.
Chief Inspector Fahar Zaman of GMP’s Trafford borough, said: “This incident has led to two men being taken to hospital with stab wounds and one of them is in a serious condition.
“We have arrested one man, but our investigation continues to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident.
“This happened in the early morning when people would have been leaving for work, and may have seen something.
“I would urge anybody who noticed anything suspicious in the area at the time to come forward.”
