Elderly Man In Altrincham Robbed By A Bogus Worker Who Ran Off With His Money

An elderly man aged 94 was robbed in Altrincham by a bogus workman who ran off with two hundred and twenty pounds.

The elderly man who lives on Brown Street in Altrincham got a knock at the door by a male who advised that his chimney was extremely unsafe and that he was able to fix this for him, sadly once the male was handed the cash he made off and never returned.

The offender is described as a White male, aged in his 50’s, 5ft 7ins, average build with grey hair and a slight Scottish accent.

Police are telling people to be vigilant and warn family members and vulnerable people about bogus people, and not to be handing over any money at the door, and of course always ask for identification.
