Police are warning people about an increase in shed break-ins and what you should be doing to make sure your high valued items are kept safe and secure.

policetape

The offenders gain entry into your shed by either smashing windows, unscrewing shed doors or the frames.

To make it harder for offenders police offer this bit of advice:

  • Attach bikes together with bike locks and chains or secure them to large objects like lawn mowers
  • Purchase a floor bracket to lock valuable bikes in
  • Invest in a shed alarm
  • Keep rear garden lit by security lights and motion sensors
  • Keep valuable items covered up with anything you have
  • Take photos of your bikes detailing any identifiable marks

We suggest not to be putting anything of value in any shed! if you have a nice road or mountain bike that cost a fortune, this needs to be brought inside.

Like the saying goes “Out of sight out of mind” is a correct one.
