17 confirmed dead at a fire that engulfed a block of flats in West London.

The blaze at Grenfell Tower Block which trapped many people was thought to have started on the fourth floor spread fast throughout the hi-rise block of flats, residents that did escape and eye witnesses confirmed they heard no alarms.

People on the scene claimed they heard others in the burning flats screaming to get out, we know many children live in these flats and disabled people, many people on the ground have said whilst the bottom half was burning the top half would have not known a thing due to no smoke alarms going off, the screaming will haunt this part of town for years maybe for ever, kids screaming, and others just jumping from flats , mothers throwing their children to safety, some with a damp towel around their heads trying to come out of the flats unhurt was seen.
Serious questions will now be asked about fire safety in hi-rise flats after this tragic incident.
London Fire have done a great job in distinguishing this gigantic fire although flames have whipped up again in some of the charred building tonight.
At this time seventeen are known to be dead, and many people are in a critical condition or injured and many missing which sadly will end up with a bigger death count.
