It is that time of year again when we have the traditional festivals in Trafford, this year though is a bit special as the Altrincham Festival turns 40.

The festival on July 1st starts in Altrincham centre at 11am and makes its way down Stamford New Road towards Stockport Road and through to Park Road and should be at Beechfields in Timperley between 12.30 and 1pm.

The chair of the Altincham Festival and ex councillor Neil Taylor said: “We are looking forward to once again putting on the biggest free show in Trafford. Come and celebrate our 40th year, our ruby year.
“The show ground is open from 11am to 5pm and we have the Joh Collins funfair, attractions, stalls, ice creams, hot food, beer tent and much more.
And a new addition is that we have Trafford Pride joining us for their first ever event. And best of all its free.”

As a result of the parade some roads will be closed for a while.
