It doesn’t seem 5 minutes since Trafford MV closed off their season as promoted under dogs in the Lancashire Cumbria League yet with 6 wins from the last 7 games of the season MV showed their credentials and will be looking for a more determined competition this coming season. With a view to a strong start MV begin their pre-season training this week and will continue every Tues/Thurs evening at 6.45pm at their MacPherson Park ground at M33 6LR.

MV have a tough start to the season which begins in Sept with an away game at Bolton followed by games against the 3 runners up to Carlisle in the promotion battle De La Salle, Aspatria and Oldham – so a good pre-season will be essential to get some early pickings !
The captaincy team remains the same with Andy Quigley Captain supported by Joe Cooper as Vice. The coaching will be led by Stuart Crampton and Mike Boyle. The Club are keen to recruit good quality local amateur rugby players who are keen to develop their game and play at the highest amateur level they can aspire to – if you want to play Rugby for Trafford MV please contact Greg Hawkins on 07834-857905 to express your interest otherwise call into training at the next session.
The Club are also keen to give local players the opportunity to play Rugby on a more social platform with their 3rd XV who this season will have a more local fixture list and also have the social traditions of Rugby at heart – contact wilfdooley@virginmedia.com.
The Club is also conscious that many school leavers and college students may not have found a local rugby club to play for so these young players too are invited to come and enjoy the great facilities and social amenities that Trafford MV has. The Club is opening it’s doors to the local community this Saturday (8th) for a Lions Breakfast from 7.45am as the British and Irish Lions, fresh from their 21-24 victory over the New Zealand All Blacks play off in the decider for this series – a huge achievement in Rugby history if they manage it ! Just come on down and enjoy the Big Match atmosphere at Trafford MV
