Police are appealing for information after an attempted abduction of a 11-year-old girl in Altrincham.

The girl was walking along Moss Lane close to the junction of Queens Road on July 21 at around 3.30pm when a white transit van pulled up, a man then started talking with her, offering her sweets and a lift home, when the girl refused he attempted to drag her in the van via an open window.
Luckily the girl managed to fight him off and ran away, the transit van was then seen to do a u-turn and went in the direction of Altrincham Football Club.
The offender is described as a white man, approximately 38-years-old with light brown hair, he was wearing a black cowboy hat and dark clothing.
Detective Constable Steve Matthias of GMP’s Trafford Borough said: “This man grabbed his victim as she walked to Stamford Park from school in the middle of the day when there could have been a number of witnesses nearby.
“The whole ordeal has left her understandably terrified and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have any information that can help with our esquires.”
