Police arrest a man after he is suspected of raping a female in Hale

At around 3.10pm on October 15, police received a report of a rape which had taken place the night before in a field in Hale.

Officers attended and found a 39-year-old woman with minor injuries who was taken to hospital for treatment and is now being looked after by specially trained officers.

A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances around this incident.
