The Warburton Toll Bridge Action Group on Facebook that was founded by Mark Broadstock has gone from strength to strength, and now a Partington resident and community leader  who is also a member of the group, has written a poem dedicated to all the other members.
Partington resident Fred Varden who is also a poet put pen to paper and came up with the poem which we think is excellent.
BRIDGE OVER MUDDY WATER
By Fred Varden

When you’re weary, sat in your car
When the tail back, is long
you’ll curse them all
I’m on your side, oh
when your chins on the ground
And loose change can’t be found!

Near a bridge over muddy water
The barrier comes down
Near a bridge over muddy water
The barrier comes down

When you’re down and out
When you’re sat nav’s broke
When evening falls, so dark
Nothing comforts you (ooo)
We’ll still be stuck, oh
when darkness comes
And traffics all around!

Near a bridge over muddy water
The barrier comes down
Near a bridge over muddy water
The barrier comes down

Sail on silver jag
Sail on by
Your still won’t get
to the front of the barrier line, (ooo)
See how they que
Oh, if you need a friend
I’m following right behind!

Near a bridge over muddy water
The barrier comes down
Near a bridge over muddy water
The barrier comes down
