Violent crimes in Trafford has been the biggest problem in 2017

Having looked at official statistics we can reveal violent crime is at the top of the charts in Trafford from Dec 2016 to Nov 2017.

In the areas we looked at and within a half mile radius we found violent crime to be the biggest problem, anti social behaviour (ASB) second and public order offences in third, and as expected shoplifting fairly high in our town centres, below is a full run down in order of recorded crimes from them areas.

The numbers at the side is how many crimes were recorded in the period stated above.

Partington:

  • Violent crime – 249
  • ASB – 172
  • Criminal Damage and Arson – 101
  • Public Order -99
  • Burglary – 32
  • Other theft – 30
  • Vehicle Crime -15
  • Other Crime -14
  • Robbery – 10
  • Drug Offences – 7
  • Bike Theft 4

Eastway area in Sale:

  • Violent Crime – 78
  • Burglary – 69
  • ASB – 57
  • Public Order 36
  • Vehicle Crime – 32
  • Criminal Damage and Arson – 24
  • Other Theft – 18
  • Robbery – 11
  • Shoplifting – 10
  • Bike Theft -8

Old Trafford:

  • Violent Crime -352
  • ASB – 249
  • Public Order – 167
  • Criminal Damage and Arson – 133
  • Vehicle Crime – 94
  • Other Theft – 80
  • Burglary – 72
  • Robbery – 33
  • Shoplifting -28
  • Bike Theft – 24
  • Drug Offences – 17

Altrincham Town Centre saw Violent crime at 228, ASB second with 177 and 142 shoplifting offences, Criminal Damage and Arson was 63 and Bike theft was 57 just in the town centre! even with the new bike hub, Drug offences was low at just 3 for the period.

Looking at Sale Town Centre it shown Shoplifting as the highest crime with 145 crimes, Violent Crime at 126 and ASB at 120, Public order was next at 68 and Other theft at 55, Bike theft was 38, as for Criminal Damage and Arson that was next at 21 and Burglary at 14.

Stretford Mall and around it saw a total of 156 for Violent Crime, ASB at 112, next up was Shoplifting at 99, Public Order at 87, Criminal Damage and Arson 59 and Other theft at 54, Burglary was next with 32, Vehicle Crime was 26 and Bike theft sadly was 18.

Stretford saw the highest rate of drug crimes but still lower than many other places at 12, theft from a person was 9.

Urmston Town Centre saw ASB as the highest crime in the period with 90, then closely behind was Violent Crime at 85, Public Order offences was 60, Other theft at 38 and Shoplifting at 33, next up was Criminal Damage and Arson at 28, Vehicle crime was 12 and Drug offences 10.

We suggest that you take on board the great advice police give to you for your own safety and to ensure your home and car is protected as best as it can be, lots of information is out there, on Facebook and other medi, remember if you are concerned about anything you can always talk to your local police team or ring 101, and 999 only in an emergency.
