Police were called at around 8.20am this morning December 30 to reports of a collision involving a Nissan Qashqai car on Lostock Road in Davyhulme.

When officers arrived they found the vehicle on its side.

Emergency services attended the scene and the road was closed off for a time, the male driver was arrested under suspicion of drunk and drug driving.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment that is not believed to be serious.
