Police were called to reports that a fight had taken place at Asda in Broadheath yesterday February 4th at around 3pm.

Several calls were made about the fight which must have been frightening for older people who were in the store shopping.

Police attended and found that the fight was over a reduced sandwich, no arrests were made although those who were fighting got a little bit embarrassed.

On GMP South Facebook page they rightly stated that they are stretched and the incident was a complete waist of time and money, they also said that crime reports have been made and that some of there patrols will be keeping an eye on things.

They also said: “If you choose to treat yourself to a cheap discounted bargain, please be respectful in doing so.

“Certainly don’t fight over a 10p sandwich when trying to save some dough.”
