A gang of around 15 individuals were recently going around the Altrincham and Hale areas, causing trouble for local residents and in some cases assaulting and robbing people on public transport.
A letter had been sent out in the Timperley area to warn parents about the ongoing issues and to keep their children safe after school.
Police at Altrincham and the Youth Offending Team, including Trafford Anti-social behaviour officers identified 14 offenders and have all been issued with an Acceptable Behaviour Contract which simply means they cannot behave in a certain manner, associate with certain individuals and attending specific locations.
Three youths have been interviewed under caution for robbery, assault, and public order offences and referred to the Youth Offending Team for appropriate action to be taken.
Police say that since the intervention, the number of incidents of youth crime has significantly reduced.
Great work by all involved to reduce what could have been a more serious situation and Trafford can feel that little bit safer.
