Road closed off in Timperley as a huge sinkhole appears

One of the biggest sinkholes appeared on a road in Timperley this morning forcing police to shut down the road.

Seymour Grove in Timperley will be closed off all weekend we are told as workmen make safe the 3ft wide hole.

A spokesman for Amey who was fixing the road told us “It is the state of the roads are in that causes these sinkholes, when you see a pothole it does further damage deep below the ground”

He mentioned that he felt sorry for the residents, however, he said we need to do this work so everyone is safe.

A sinkhole appeared on a busy Road in Sale recently although nowhere near as wide it caused some traffic issues for a time.
