Work on the A1 road in Carrington will start later this year

Manchester Road that runs all the way from Partington to Carrington will have a relief road in the Autumn as HIMOR has found a large amount of cash to be able to open up the A1 road and to extend it to Carrington Lane.

The widening of Manchester Road and work on the Flixton Road nightmare junction will further enhance this area that was at one time a serious concern for residents was congestion due to two huge housing developments.

The A1 road we think will be extended to go behind Bury FC training ground and continue on cutting out much of Carrington Lane and a faster way into Sale.

It was first proposed that the A1 road will only be used for emergency vehicles, however, that plan has now been thrown out and Trafford Council are now looking at plans and will offer a consultation nearer the time.

It is also expected the road will be given a new name, this would be interesting, to say the least.
