Warburton Toll Bridge has now re-opened after a fire destroyed the toll booth on the Trafford side late on Thursday evening.
Pictures came flooding in on social media of the remains of the booth which has now been cleared, Cheshire Police are investigating the cause of the blaze.
The booth and the amount of cars clogging up roads surrounding the toll bridge brought about an action group, other media came along shortly after.
We had reported several times on the problems residents faced before Peel and Trafford Council got together to find a solution which they now have done.
The people at the toll bridge were taking money often £10 at a time to get as many people through, one resident could often be seen paying out of her own pocket to get as many cars through, however this was not enough as more cars were added.
Pollution was the greatest concern, with levels of N02 and Particles rising this was not good for anyone in the small village of Warburton, noise pollution was also a problem.
We think their should be no Toll booth, people already pay enough to use a vehicle.
