Beware the door knocker who wants your gold and claims to be an official

Trafford Trading Standards are warning residents in Trafford about a male going around knocking on doors trying to buy gold.

A resident alerted Trafford of the scam, she told the man that she did not have any, the man then left a white envelope with her, he collected it 10 minutes later, he then got agitated when he found nothing in the envelope.

He is described as a white male aged between 55 and 60-years-old and around 5ft 7ins tall, he has brown hair, and he was wearing trousers and a sports jacket with an ID badge around his neck.

The male kept his fingers over the ID badge so she could not get any information.

Trafford Trading Standards will never authorise doorstep selling of any kind so if someone ever says they are from Trafford Trading Standards and try to sell you something or want something, it will be a scam.
