Huge fire at a factory in Irlam shuts down all roads in the area

Eight fire engines and an aerial appliance are currently tackling a fire involving a large quantity of pallets and an industrial site in Irlam.

 

Fire fighters were called to the factory just before 7pm tonight and roads have been closed around the area.

The fire has spread to commercial lorries and fork lift trucks, it is not known what is in these trucks.

Smoke could be seen billowing out giving off a toxic smell around the Partington area.

Greater Manchester Fire are warning people to avoid the area.
