Man charged with causing the death of a woman from Sale following a collision in Hulme

The man named as Laurence Crossan aged 28 of no fixed abode has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a collision, failure to report a collision and dangerous driving.

He has been remanded to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court tomorrow July 5.

At around 9.25pm on June 28 a woman from Sale named as Emma Galton aged 24 was crossing Chester Road at a pedestrian crossing near to the junction of Manson Ave in Hulme when she was involved with a collision with a silver ford Mondeo.

Emma sadly died at the scene despite the best efforts of emergency services.
