Despite some delay at the start of the Manchester Half Marathon and the gloomy wet weather thousands of runners turned up to enjoy the race.

A high number of spectators helped them all get through it with incredible support despite the conditions.
It was also nice to hear that all the stewards that we spoke with had no real issues with motorists as in the past.
The half marathon was won by Andy Vernon in a time of 1:03:36 and in second place last years winner Luke Traynor just behind in a time of 1:03:59.
Sale Harriers did very well in this years race with Gavin Hill coming in a respectable 7th place and his team mate Callum Rowlinson in 8th.
Best Placed Trafford athlete was Matt Berry with a time of 1:19:14.
