Actor Windsor Davies who starred in ‘it ain’t half hot mum’ has died aged 88.
The actor was born in Canning East London in 1930, his parents were Welsh and returned back to Wales in 1939.
Davies worked as a coal miner, he then did national service in the middle east with the East Surrey Regiment from 1950 to 1952 before becoming an actor.
He will be best remembered for his role as Sergeant Williams in the sitcom’ it ain’t half hot mum’ which started in 1974 and ended in 1981, he also appeared in two Carry On films, Carry On Behind and Carry On England.
Windsor made a total of 24 movies and appeared in 11 TV programmes, he also did some radio and narrated an audio book called Treasure Island.
He retired and settled down in France, his wife Eluned died in October 2018, 4 months later Windsor died.
