The incident happened as the aircraft carrying 40 passengers and crew had just gone over Staffordshire, passengers reported that they heard a very loud bang and saw a flash from the left hand side, soon after smoke was seen in the cabin.

The pilot shut down the engine and declared an emergency, the aircraft landed safely at Birmingham Airport.

Emergency services were ready and waiting for the aircraft now flying with one engine, once it landed they told the captain of the aircraft that they had a fuel leak.

All passengers boarded a later flight to Luxombourg.
