From the 1st March the leisure centre will offer 56 live Instructor-led group fitness classes a week, with an increase in lunchtime and 30-minute high intensity interval training (HIIT) sessions.

Simon Blair, General Manager, Sale Leisure Centre said: “We’ve taken a fresh look at our timetable and the classes we offer. The timetable is now packed with a variety of different ways to get fit, including 30 and 45 minute indoor cycling classes, split into four categories – Begin2, Speed, Interval and Journey, which are all aimed to challenge customers in distinct ways. Alongside this, other additions and revamps include more 30-minute HIIT training, an Insanity class, BarreHIIT and a bespoke FamilyFIT circuit training session. The new programme has been developed with our customers at its heart, taking on board everyday time restraints and pressures. There really is something for everyone.”

New teachers have been brought in to enrich Sale Leisure Centre’s programme, making sure its classes are exciting, varied and suitable for all abilities and ages. Brand new classes have been created with the whole family in mind, including a Saturday morning ‘FamilyFIT Circuit Class’, which will be taught be Katie Parker, a specialist personal trainer and holistic coach. She is very excited to lead this unique session.

Katie said: “The FamilyFIT Circuit Class is a very interactive session for all the family. The exercises are largely game based and interactive to engage both children/young people as well as their parents; to work and play together, is to get fit together. It will be a lot of fun and I can’t wait to see some fantastic results.”

The staff at Sale Leisure Centre are keen for customers to try something new, and to encourage uptake instructors will be running introductory sessions for indoor cycling and HIIT. Blair says: “People are often scared to try a new class, they may not know what is involved in the session. For example a customer could be anxious about starting an indoor cycling for the first time. They may not have ridden a bike for a long time, and are worried about how to set the equipment up. Our Begin2 Cycle30 sessions are ideal. Our instructors will carefully talk our customers through how the bike and class operates, and how to make the most of class.”

In addition to the new timetable, Sale Leisure Centre has invested in new equipment including headsets, music systems, microphones, exercise mats and kit.

Jo Cherrett, COO, Trafford Leisure, said: “The improved classes and scheduling will help the Trafford Leisure community to fulfil their physical activity goals. The new timetable is accessible and varied, and I’m delighted that our customers will get to try something new.”

Exercise classes can be booked on the Trafford Leisure website and App.
