Police launch a murder investigation as a man was stabbed in Wythenshawe

Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was found collapsed at a property in Wythenshawe.


At 8.45am today (Friday 5 April 2019) police were called to an address on Crossacres Road in Wythenshawe.

The 20-year-old man that was stabbed was taken to hospital in a critical condition. He has since sadly died.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody for questioning.

Detective Chief Inspector Carl Jones of GMP’s Major Incident Team said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this unimaginably difficult time and we are committed to giving them the answers they deserve.

“We have arrested one person in connection with this murder and are appealing for the public to come forward with any information they might have.

“Were you in the vicinity of Crossacres Road at around 8.30am on Friday 5 April? Did you see anything suspicious or have any information that can assist us? If so, get in touch with us immediately.”
