Former Spurs player Justin Edinburgh dies aged 49

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Letyon Orient manager Justin Edinburgh has died aged 49.

Edinburgh turned professional in 1988 after being a trainee with Southend United, he went on loan at Spurs for a time before the North London giants signed him full time in which he made 215 appearances.

He left Spurs on loan to Portsmouth and soon after he signed for the club making 34 appearances although he was a left back he scored only one goal for both clubs.

Edinburgh hanged up his boots and went into management with Leyton Orient being his last club.

The former player and manager leaves behind two kids and his wife.

On June 3rd he was admitted to hospital following a heart attack, he sadly died on June 8th aged 49.

Tottenham Hotspur FC tweeted “We are deeply shocked to hear the passing of Justin Edinburgh.

“Our hearfelt condolences and thoughts go out to his family and freinds at this terribly difficult time as well as everyone that worked alongside Justin at Leyton Orient.”

The football world and community has come together to express its shock at the players passing.
