The RAF Dakota C-47 was spotted flying low over Partington this afternoon (June 23rd) it took off from City Airport in Salford.
It was seen just afer 3pm and was going to Lymm to do a flypass for the Lymm Historic Transport Day.
The Dakota was a very special plane in the second world war as it was used a Military transporter aircraft.
It was nicknamed ‘Kwicherbichen’ by those that flew the aircraft, and it was involved with para-dropping operations during D-Day in 1944.
The Lymm Historic Transport Day event which was held on May Queen field and around Lymm included steam trains, BMX competiotions, face painting, canal cruises, vintage cars and much more.
