Volunteers needed to help run a new youth project in Partington

ROC Fuse are looking for volunteers to help run a new youth project in Partington, ROC Plus, starting in September.

If you want to develop new skills, do something good for your community, and have fun while doing so this could be for you!

You should be good at working with children and young people, and have an interest in one of the following areas:

– Sports
– Creative Arts
– Digital Media
– Education through drama
– Business, Employment and Innovation

ROC Plus is a new youth project that is currently under development. The aims of this project are to give children and young people new skills that will help build their confidence, skills, and self-esteem, and lead them on a positive path.

The project will be split into 5 ‘streams’ with 5 children or young people (participants) in each, with one sessional worker per stream who will be aided by volunteers.

The sessional workers will lead the participants in activities which will have been carefully designed to ensure that they bring the most benefit to the participants by focusing on their needs, skills, and abilities.

These activities will also add benefit to the local community; for example, within the digital media stream the participants could be interviewing local residents about the history of Partington in order to make a video or podcast, which will be shown to the local community, they could also be asking local residents about how badly represented Partington is at a political level.

Their is an open evening on September 24th between 6 and 7pm at the ROC Fuse on Warburton Lane in Partington, for more details on the youth project or to get involved contact Louise on 0161 393 4511 or email louisewiggins@roc.uk.com
