Police appeal for witnesses after a teenage boy was knifed several times in Eccles

Police are appealing for witnesses to a stabbing in Eccles.

Sometime between 11:30pm and midnight on Monday 19 August 2019, a 17-year-old boy was on Monton Road when he was attacked by another boy.

The victim was stabbed a number of times before the offender fled the scene in a grey coloured VW Polo.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries and he remains there for treatment.

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Detective Constable Darren Lowe, of GMP’s Salford District, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who may have information about this incident, which can help us find those responsible.

“Thankfully the victim’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening, however that could easily have not been the case.

“We believe that there may have been a number of witnesses to the attack and I want to urge those people who saw something to please contact police.”

Anybody with information should contact police on 0161 856 2079, quoting incident number 11 of 20/08/19, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
