Coop foodstore in Sale robbed causes store to close down

A Coop foodstore in Sale was robbed during the evening (November 3 2019) causing the store to be closed on the 4th due to extensive damage inside.


The Brooklands store on Washway Road and at the junction on Stanley Mount was robbed through the roof, workmen at the back of the closed down store told us robbers smashed the tills out and caused thousands of pounds worth of damage likely trying to look for the safe.

A note on the front of the store said “Sorry closed due to unforeseen circumstances”
It is currently unknown if the robbers got what they wanted or what time during the night they arrived, the store itself is due to go through some upgrade with an Amazon Locker due to be placed at the side of the building.

The Brooklands store and other Coop food stores around Sale have all been robbed in recent times, the Coop further down towards the Pelican Pub has been done a couple of times already this year, fortunately, no one has been injured in these robberies.
