A 2-year-old child has sadly died shortly after the plane the child was on diverted in an emergency to St John’s International Airport in Canada.
The Saudi Boeing 777 flight 35 was on route from Jedda in Saudi Arabia to Washington D.C on November 12 when the captain made an emergency landing to get the child life saving treatment by paramedics who was waiting on the ground at the airport.
Local police have said that the child died during the ride to a hospital and although at an early stage it was not being treated as suspicious.
The child will be examined to find out the cause of death at a coroners court soon.
Flight 35 departed some time after the divert and landed safely at its final destination of Washington DC three hours later.
