A man has been arrested after a serious assault on a man with a baseball bat in the City Centre.

On Saturday 30 November 2019 at around 10:30pm, police were called to reports of an assault on Byrom Street where a man sustained a fractured leg after being hit by a baseball bat multiple times.
A 39 – year -old man has been arrested at his home address on suspicion of serious assault, possession of class A drugs, and possession of prohibited firearm. He has been released under investigation.
And a 25 –year-old woman has been arrested for possession of class A drugs and possession of prohibited firearm after the following items were also recovered from the same address:
- A quantity Cocaine and Heroin
- Two baseball bats
- Two Taser type stun devices
- One Zombie knife
- One push dagger
- Three hunting knives
- A hatchet
- Three extendable batons
- Two knuckledusters
- Three passports
- Air-pistol
