A defeat at Ormskirk 29-5 leaves MV 10 points adrift at the foot of the table and hopes of turning this around diminish week on week however there are lots of other things at MV that make the Club one of the most accomplished Clubs in the Rugby community.

Recently nominated for the Gallagher Community Club of the Year Traffrd MV wait eagerly for results to be announced.

Efforts throughout the Club are focused on making sport available to all ages and abilities which can be seen in the range of Rugby related activities provided.

Sunday mornings bring hordes of children from 3 years of age right through to lads in their late teens being active and learning the skills, commitment and enjoyment that can be gained from playing this iconic sport.

Players can then progress through to Senior Rugby in which MV field 3 regular Saturday teams engaging with players right into their 30/40’s.

Following on from regular week in week out games MV have an occasional Vets (over 35’s) XV playing Friday Night Friendlies against other Vets teams from around the area, with a great social side supporting the rugby.

For families the Club hosts Parents and Kids Touch Rugby on Thursday evenings plus for the golden oldies (over 50’s) we even have Walking Rugby which is a slowed down minimal contact version of the game on Wednesday evenings. Something for all ages. !

Trafford MV’s latest adventure and possibly their most adventurous is the launch of the Clubs first ever Women’s Rugby team.

Newly appointed Director of Women’s Rugby Lizzi Cafferky is very excited at prospects after nearly 50 girls/women attended the opening training session and new players showing interest each week.

The Women’s club is very keen for any females aged 16 years plus to get in touch and join us for the journey.

Training/coaching will be held each Thursday evening at 7.30pm. Players, coaches and administrators are all needed as we seek to build for our first friendly against Oldham Women on Sat March 7th. The Club will also seek to develop an under 16’s girls team in the near future too.
